In the 2018-19 Academic year at Loughborough University, I had the pleasure to work on preparations for the engineering department's yearly exhibition - Engineering Designers. Working within a team of 4 peers, I produced the majority of cover mock-ups leading up to the finished brochure.

For the 2019 exhibition the department wanted to design a brochure that reflected the multi-facted nature of the degrees exhibiting at the show - Mechanical, Manufacturing and Product Design engineers would all be present.
This presented a challenge in choosing a cover, as it would have to capture both the conceptual elements present in product design whilst also representing the technical details vital to mechanical engineering...

Initial passes at a cover utilised a cutout design, with a blueprint style drawing on top, and full colour photography below. A self-modelled DSLR was used as a placeholder product prior to confirmation of what was to be featured.
A second round of cover designs looked to capture individual products in 3D stylised wireframe. Out of the 5 concepts, here are two: a DSLR camera, and a everyday wheelchair.
Refined further, the final cover design was produced with a series of orthogonal drawings from my own CAD work, allowing representation of a wide variety of products. The final mock-up and associated files were then passed on to Loughborough University Creative & Print Services for colour tweaks and final layout for print.
